Mentee’s Parent Application

Hi Parents! Thank you for allowing your child to apply for mentorship here at Girls Like You. Please click on the application link below and fill out the forms, which is basically consent to mentor and a few questions regarding your daughter. Mentee Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be 12–19 years old
  • Demonstrate a desire to participate in the program and be willing to abide by all Girls Like You mentor program policies and procedures
  • Behavior Challenges that are affecting  key areas
  • Be able to obtain parental/guardian permission and ongoing support for participation in the program
  • Agree to a min one-year commitment to the program
  • Commit to Sister Time (Face to Face Activity) min once a month
  • Commit to doing Weekly Check Ins (Communicate with the Mentee Weekly)
  • Complete screening procedure
  • Agree to attend mentee trainings as required

Mentors qualifications and responsibilities:

  • 21 and older
  • Follow up on mentees’ progress
  • Maintain confidentiality of the information shared by all mentees
  • Check in with mentee once a week via phone or email (face to face are welcome but not required)
  • Meet face to face with mentee once a month
  • Attend quarterly activities

Secretary

  • Produce information by, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics
  • Maintain mentees’, volunteers’, and staff members’ files
  • Ensure newly accepted staff and mentees’ applications are completed and processed
  • Maintain the calendars of the Board of Directors and arrange meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel
  • Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping applicants’ information confidential
  • Maintain office supplies inventory
  • Attend Board of Directors meeting
  • Assist the board of directors as needed

Youth Referral Coordinator

  • Establish relationships with relevant organizations
  • Establish relationships with relevant businesses
  • Manage all contracts with all parties we are connected to
  • Maintain records, documentations and perform other related duties as required
  • Collaborate with coworkers and staff from other public and private nonprofit agencies

Marketing Director

  • Conduct research to analyse market trends, targeted group, and prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data
  • Coordinate marketing and community events, including overseeing logistics, managing registrations, coordinating with vendors, creating itineraries, and ordering marketing collateral
  • Develop and manage content and social media marketing programs, including blogs and public relations efforts
  • Evaluate and establish marketing plans and strategies by assembling, planning, and organizing promotional presentations.
  • Continuously seek and research new sources and provide recommendations to the Board of  Directors
  • Develop a mailing lists with potential relevant connections

 Fundraiser Coordinator

  • Develop fundraising action plans
  • Identify and suggest fundraising opportunities
  • In conjunction with the Treasurer, keep records relating to fundraising monies
  • Provide monthly updates to proper committee(s) regarding fundraising duties and events
  • Be knowledgeable of all organization activities
  • Plan and manage events and assembling
